Q. How do I install Dartboard to my device?
A. Make sure you have a compatible device by checking here, and then go to our download page. Instructions are provided there.
Q. Which devices are compatible with Dart technology?
A. There are several million Dart-ready devices in the market…But since we’re being honest that’s because our first compatible devices are Mac and Windows PCs. But we also are compatible with millions of mobile devices, and more types of devices are coming on line every month. Click here to see our compatible devices and platforms.
Q. How do I launch a Dart once it’s installed?
A. Just find it in your device’s Application launcher, and fire it up. The location of installed applications differs from device to device, so consult your device owner’s manual if you don’t know the default location.
Q. How do I install a Dart to my devices?
A. You only need to install a Dart to one of your devices. It will then spread the first time you use it, to all nearby devices in your Inner Circle. It will propagate itself, configure itself, and interoperate with your other devices immediately.
Q. What’s an “Entourage”
A. We call the group of inter-connected devices that you control your “Entourage”. Once they have Dart working on them, they become like your trusted circle of friends, working together in your interests, and doing your bidding. Well, at least that’s how we wish our friends acted.
Q. How do I add devices to my Entourage
A. You can add any compatible device to your Entourage. Just install the DartBoard environment to it, and select it from the menu of any other Dart-enabled device you own. You can also add any device that is Dart-enabled from the factory.
Q. Some phones, for example the Nokia N95, come with good applications to view SlideShows or to print pre-installed, why does anyone need Darts?
A. Some phones come with many of the features of Darts in a general way, but these applications can be difficult to use and have many limitations. They certainly don’t work across devices like Darts do. DartPictures not only gives you access to pictures on other devices, but also allows you to show pictures on other devices. The same is true of DartSongs.
Many features like printing only work between Bluetooth devices because the printing is performed using Bluetooth Print Profiles that must be implemented on both devices. Do you have a Bluetooth printer? DartPictures and DartPrint automatically look for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices at the same time, and can share the resources of other Dart enabled devices.
Q. What does DARTDevices mean when you claim “hassle-free”?
A. Hassle-free means no Bluetooth pairing, the same application interface on every device, and all applications work between all combinations of devices and protocols.
Q. What’s in the Dart StarterSuite
A. The Dart StarterSuite is a suite of starter applications to get you up and running with Darts – all for free! We’ve packed in media sharing, games, printing utilities and more. It Includes, the DartBoard, DartSongs, DartPictures, DartPicturePopper, DartBattleBoats, and DartPrint .
Q. When I launch a Dart, my device stops responding.
A. Sometimes your device might hang because of a Dart error, or possibly an error with other software running on your device. Generally, desktop computers will not encounter this problem and resetting a mobile device will clear any error. See your owner’s manual for information on how to “soft reset” your device. Often a pin is used on a reset button at the rear or bottom of mobile devices.
Q. I want to build a specific feature that works on the DartBoard platform. How do I build a Dart of my own?
A. You’ll need to join our Dart Developer’s program, and get the SDK. It’s free, C++ based, easy, and you’ll soon be coding Darts for yourself and the world.
